Exotool connects to Claude: apps built and changed by asking
DOVER, Del., October 17, 2026 — Exotool, LLC today announced the Exotool connector for Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant, now listed in the Claude connector directory. With the connector, a person describes the app they want in plain words, in a Claude conversation, and Claude builds it: a complete progressive web app with its screens, data and behaviour, opened on a phone within minutes.
The connector uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard through which Claude is given tools by outside services. Exotool's tools let Claude create a project or copy a sample, read a project's diagram, change it, save and compile it, upload images and files, and hand back the preview and editor addresses. Claude does not write the app's code. It edits the app's diagram, and Exotool's patented engine generates the application from the diagram, the device side, the server side and the APIs between them, the same way every time.

The design has three consequences for the person asking. What Claude built can be read: the diagram is a human-readable account of the app, open in the Exotool editor, where it can be examined, audited and changed by hand. Every save is backed up before it happens, and Claude can undo its last change. And the result is the person's own: the generated source can be deployed on a host of their choice, with their own database.
The connector works with every Exotool plan, the free plan included, and with any Claude account that can add connectors. To start, open Exotool in the Claude directory at claude.ai/directory/exotool, connect, sign in or create an Exotool account, and type: Build me a simple picture database app.
